This meal assistance system enables the user to control the robot using non-invasive, EEG(electroencephalogram)-based BCI(Brain-Computer Interface) technology.
By integrating bio-signal interfaces, such as electrooculograms and electromyograms, food and intake times can be determined with ease.
For users of the device, such as hospital patients, the disabled, and the elderly, being able to control the robot and eat on their own, without the aid of a caregiver or other assistive tools, will enhance their quality of life and self-confidence.
